The “Real Life” Room-by-Room Spring Cleaning Game Plan

Spring is here, y’all. And if your house is anything like mine, it’s screaming for a fresh start—but you're also staring at that dust bunny under the couch like, “Not today, Satan.”

I get it. Spring cleaning can feel like a huge chore, but it doesn’t have to be overwhelming. The trick is to take it one room, one task, and one deep breath at a time.

And because I love you and I love lists (especially ones that include checking things off), I’ve got you covered with a free printable checklist and some inspo pics to get you motivated. Let’s tackle this house, room by room—without losing our minds in the process.

The Kitchen:
This room works hard year-round, so give it some love. Clear out the fridge and pantry (yes, that mystery jar from 2022 has to go), wipe down the cabinets, and don’t forget the top of the fridge—where dust goes to retire.
Pro tip: Turn on your favorite playlist and pretend you’re starring in a cleaning montage.

The Living Room:
Fluff those pillows, vacuum the furniture, and let some air in. If your throw blanket hasn’t moved in months, it’s probably time for a wash. Oh—and check behind the couch. No judgment if you find snacks or socks.

The Bathroom:
Deep-clean the tub, scrub the toilet, and replace any mystery hand towels. Wipe the baseboards and sweep behind the toilet (the place dust bunnies fear the most). A clean bathroom makes your whole house feel fresher—promise.

The Bedrooms:
Wash your bedding—including pillows and mattress covers. Declutter your nightstand (how many lip balms do you really need?), and take five minutes to pull anything you no longer wear from your closet. Boom—instant breathing room.

The Entryway (aka First Impressions):
Sweep, shake out the rug, and give that front door a wipe-down. Toss or organize those shoes that seem to multiply by the week.
Add a wreath or potted plant if you’re feeling fancy.

In Conclusion...

Spring cleaning isn’t about creating a perfect home—it’s about clearing out the clutter, freshening the air, and making space for the new. Whether you’re getting your home ready to sell or just want it to feel lighter and brighter, a little effort goes a long way.

And if this whole process makes you realize you're ready for a new space entirely? You know where to find me. 😉
